Objectives of the Public Relations and Publicity Department:
 

The Public Relations and Publicity Department, located within the Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Bucak Business Faculty, aims to provide undergraduate education to students from Turkey and other nations of the world. In today's world, referred to as the communication age, a process of change and transformation is taking place. The rapidly changing and developing technology, differing consumer expectations, increasing competition, are pushing institutions to operate with different strategies. It is impossible for these global changes not to affect public relations, which is an important management function in institutions. Therefore, public institutions, private sector organizations, and non-governmental organizations have to communicate with their target audiences much more frequently than before. The main purpose of public relations is to carry out planned, programmed communication activities that all public, private, and non-governmental organizations will put forward to provide understanding, support, and trust to their target audiences, create a positive image, and gain reputation, within certain strategies. In this context, public relations needs many communication tools to achieve its purpose. In this context, the objectives of the department include;

- To provide an academic program that has caught up with the requirements of the age and adapted itself to change in this department, which is greatly affected by technological developments and global changes,

- To train future public relations experts who have adopted the ethical values of their profession, have problem-solving skills, think fast, can adapt to the conditions they are in, make appropriate decisions and implement these decisions correctly, can use new technologies, have developed communication skills, and are specialized in areas such as advertising, new media, marketing, sales, human resources, finance,

- To graduate students with a strong theoretical background related to the field of public relations and who can transfer this theoretical knowledge into practice,

- To train the qualified personnel sought by the business world,

- To train individuals who think about various problems in the world, country, and region, develop solutions for these problems, and contribute to social development.

 With an interdisciplinary approach, we aim to train graduates who are competent in identifying and solving problems with technological, economic, legal, and managerial aspects in business life, industry, public, and non-profit environments, by constantly updating our course programs that we aim to keep up-to-date by following sectoral developments, and by conducting courses in qualified physical conditions, using all kinds of technology and focusing on practice. Another goal of ours is to take our place among the best Public Relations and Publicity departments with a higher education institution identity that is recognized for its academic and scientific achievements in national and international fields and its quality of education, entrepreneurial, innovative, and sharing.

 Employment Opportunities and Demand for Graduates:

Increasing competition directs institutions to carry out more effective studies in the field of public relations. At this point, the need for qualified personnel in all institutions is increasing. Graduates from this field can work in the public relations, advertising, marketing, human resources departments of private organizations; public institutions, non-governmental organizations, political parties and municipalities, public relations and advertising agencies, health institutions operating in the public and private sector, tourism and media sector, research companies.

 The interdisciplinary structure of the Public Relations and Publicity Department facilitates its graduates to direct to many areas and their employers to prefer this department.
